What is PowerSkate?

PowerSkating is suitable for hockey players age 6-12

At minimum, players must be able to skate the perimeter of the ice without their stick, push with both feet, skate forwards and backwards, stop, balance and glide on one foot Coaches will assess participants on first night and reserve the right to recommend a switch in program if required skills are not met.

PLEASE NOTE: This is not a learn to skate program. Skaters who do not meet the program registration criteria are encouraged to register for PreCanSkate or CanSkate.

Our Power program is a 40-minute co-ed program taught by our NCCP Certified CanPowerSkate Professional Coaches. The CanPower program is endorsed by Hockey Canada as the National Powerskating Program. This action packed, high-energy, instructional power skating program focuses on power, balance, agility, speed and endurance. Skills, techniques and conditioning drills are taught in a progressive format.

EQUIPMENT

Full Equipment is recommended not required. Hockey sticks are optional.

No pucks will be used during this program. 

Skaters in the Powerskate program MUST wear a CSA approved hockey helmet.

Payment Options:

Pay directly online with a credit card: American Express, MasterCard or Visa.  

Refund Policy - to be requested within first 2 weeks of skating where administration fee will be collected.  There are no make up days for any inclement weather cancellations where these will be posted by 2pm on the website.

Additional Fees 

Skate Canada membership fee of $65.70 (non-refundable) 
Skate Canada Safe Sport Fee: $5.00 is included in the $65.70 fee above 

Skate Membership year - September 1 - August 31

When you sign up for a skating program at a Skate Canada member-club you automatically become a member of the national organization.

There are many advantages that go with a Skate Canada membership such as accident insurance, access to Skate Canada programs and materials, the opportunity to participate in interclub and invitational competitions and special member prices on merchandise from the on-line store
