The seminar was held Monday November 6 and our Guest Coach was Kiersten Tietz.
Kiersten is an ISU World Gold medalist in Synchronized Skating. Her team Nexxice, took the gold medal at the  2015 World Championships held in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada! Kiersten has also won 3 World silver medals along with Team Nexxice & numerous international medals.
Kiersten is a Skate Canada Gold Test medalist in Free Skate, Dance and Skills and was a Novice level competitive singles skater instructed by Fergus Skating Club Coach, Patty Lambertus, before trying her hand at Synchronized Skating.
Kiersten stressed the importance of blade and edge awareness. She taught the group some challenging warm-up exercises, a few synchronized skating moves and ended the class with some fun improvization time.
Kiersten has retired from competitive skating and is now attending the University of Guelph. She hopes to be a physiotherapist. We look forward to having Kiersten join us again.
