E.L.I. (Encouraging a Love for Ice)

Do you love to skate? The E.L.I. program is for skaters age 7 and over with strong basic skating skills (have been skating for 4 years previous) that want to improve their skating, learn new skills, keep fit and have fun but do not want to to commit to figure skating or hockey programs.

Skaters will be challenged by their coaches in a group format with instruction and drills and also some individual interaction. Progress reports and incentives will be included.

Participants in this program must have passed CanSkate Stage 3 working on CanSkate Stage 4 or have the approval of the Professional Coach.

All participants must:

  • wear a proper fitting CSA approved hockey helmet, until they have passed CanSkate 5 or higher. No bike helmets permitted. THIS IS A MANDATORY REQUIREMENT.

  • wear warm clothing which allows ease of movement. Splash pants to stay dry are preferable to bulky snowpants.

  • wear warm mittens or gloves. THIS IS A MANDATORY REQUIREMENT.

  • have proper fitting skates. Hockey or figure skates are both allowed.
