About Our Coaches

A SkateCanada Professional Coach is the first point of contact with your child on the ice at the Fergus Skating Club. He or she is also the best source of information about your child's progress and on-ice development. We encourage parents to speak with coaches in person, via email or over the phone to get the direct, helpful feedback your skater needs.
Certification: Coaches must have National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) training and they must also be a current registered professional coaching member of Skate Canada. They must have completed a Skate Canada approved clearance check and positions of trust check, police check, and hold a valid First Aid Certificate.

Coaches Code of Ethics: As a condition of membership, Skate Canada Professional Coaches agree to respect and abide by the Skate Canada Coaches Code of Ethics at all times. Professional coaches are required to provide a copy of this code to all of their clients. You can also find the details here -
